What is a PPTX File?
PPTX is the default file format for Microsoft PowerPoint presentations since Office 2007. It replaced the older binary .ppt format with an open, XML-based standard called Office Open XML (OOXML, ECMA-376). A .pptx file is essentially a ZIP archive containing XML files that describe slides, text content, images, shapes, themes, and formatting.
Because PPTX is an open format, it can be read and processed by any software that understands XML and ZIP — including web browsers. This tool uses that capability to parse, render, and even edit PPTX presentations entirely in your browser, without sending your file to any server.
PPTX files are used everywhere: business presentations, academic lectures, training materials, sales decks, and more. Whether you received a .pptx by email, downloaded it from a learning platform, or need to quickly review a presentation on a device without PowerPoint installed, this free PPTX viewer online lets you open PPTX files directly in your browser.
The older .ppt format (PowerPoint 97-2003) uses a proprietary binary structure that cannot be parsed in a browser. If you have a .ppt file, convert it to .pptx using PowerPoint, LibreOffice, or Google Slides before using this viewer.

Privacy First

Privacy & Security
Unlike cloud-based viewers that upload your file to a server, this PPTX viewer online processes everything locally in your browser. Your presentation never leaves your device — there is no upload, no server-side processing, and no data transmission of any kind. The tool uses fflate (8 KB) for ZIP decompression and the browser's built-in DOMParser for XML processing — both run entirely in JavaScript.
Images from your presentation are rendered using Blob URLs (same-origin, revoked when you close the file). There are no cookies, no tracking scripts, no analytics, and no third-party requests. Your file exists only in browser memory (RAM) and disappears completely when you close the tab.
This makes it safe for confidential presentations — legal documents, medical reports, financial data, or corporate strategy decks. You can even use it offline after the initial page load, since all code runs locally.
How to Edit PowerPoint Online
Need to make a quick text change to a presentation? This tool lets you edit PowerPoint online without installing any software. Open your PPTX file, click the Edit button in the toolbar, then click directly on any text element to modify it. When you're done, click Export to download the updated presentation as a new .pptx file.
Your edits are applied using round-trip XML modification — the original file structure is preserved, and only the changed slides are updated. This means fonts, images, shapes, and other elements you didn't touch remain exactly as they were. You can also export your presentation as a PDF via the browser's print dialog for easy sharing.

PPTX Viewer FAQ
What is a PPTX file?
PPTX is the default PowerPoint format since Office 2007. It's an open XML-based format (ZIP archive containing XML, images, and metadata) that can be read by any compatible software — including this browser-based viewer.
Can I view PowerPoint without Microsoft Office?
Yes. This tool opens .pptx files directly in your browser with no software installation needed. It works on any device with a modern web browser — Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, or iOS.
Is my file uploaded to a server?
No. Your file never leaves your device. Everything runs 100% client-side in your browser. No data is sent anywhere — we don't even have a server to receive your files.
Can I edit my presentation?
Yes. Switch to Edit mode and click any text on a slide to modify it. After editing, click Export to download the modified .pptx file. Your original file is not modified.
What is the maximum file size?
Files up to 100 MB are supported. Files over 50 MB may take a moment to load. Since everything is processed in your browser, performance depends on your device.
Does it support .ppt files?
Only .pptx files are supported. The older .ppt format is a proprietary binary format that cannot be safely parsed in the browser. You can convert .ppt to .pptx using Microsoft PowerPoint, LibreOffice, or Google Slides.
Can I present in fullscreen?
Yes. Press F or click the Fullscreen button to enter presentation mode with a black background and centered slides. Navigate with arrow keys, swipe on mobile, or click the navigation arrows. Press Escape or F again to exit fullscreen.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. The viewer is fully responsive and supports touch gestures — swipe left/right to navigate between slides. Works on phones and tablets with any modern browser.
Is it free?
Yes, completely free with no usage limits. There is no signup, no account required, no ads, and no premium tier. Every feature — viewing, editing, fullscreen presentation, and PPTX export — is available to everyone at no cost.
How do I convert PPTX to PDF?
Open your PPTX file in this viewer, then click Export and select Export PDF. This opens your browser's print dialog where you can select "Save as PDF" as the destination. Each slide becomes a PDF page at full quality. No server processing, no file size limits — the conversion happens entirely in your browser.
Can I open PPTX on a Chromebook?
Yes. This viewer runs entirely in your web browser, making it ideal for Chromebooks that don't support desktop Microsoft Office. Open Chrome, visit this page, and drop your .pptx file. You can view, navigate, present fullscreen, edit text, and export — all without installing any app or extension.
What is the difference between PPT and PPTX?
PPT is the older binary format used by PowerPoint 97-2003. PPTX is the modern XML-based format introduced in Office 2007. PPTX files are smaller, more compatible, and can be read by browser-based tools like this viewer. If you have a .ppt file, convert it to .pptx using PowerPoint, LibreOffice, or Google Slides before opening it here.
